iTunes Custom RSS Tags – Keywords

Early versions of the iTunes podcast spec included an iTunes Keywords tag, which theoretically improves search relevance when people search by topic rather than searching for the name of your podcast. Apple’s search function in Apple Podcasts hasn’t ever been great beyond Title, Author and Description fields. The keywords tag was dropped in later versions of the spec. This tag was used for individual items in your podcast feed and looked like this:
