“I want to email an iPhone screenshot to a friend. Is there a free app for taking iPhone screenshots I can email?”
The good news is, you don’t need an app to take an iPhone screenshot. Apple makes it easy to take an iPhone screenshot using the buttons on the side of your iPhone. To capture an iPhone screenshot, just press the volume up button and the side button at the same time. Your iPhone screen should flash white briefly and a camera snap sound effect will play through your speakers if you don’t have your phone silenced.
The screenshot will stay visible at the bottom left of your screen for a few seconds, giving you the opportunity to open it up and draw on it with markup tools before saving to your photos or files.
If you want to make your screenshots look fancy, there’s a great iPhone app called OneScreen that let’s you frame the screenshot as if it is inside a phone, similar to the example below.
Once you have the iPhone screenshot, emailing is as simple as attaching the image to an email. Open your mail on your iPhone, compose a message, then add an attachment. You can choose the iPhone screenshot from your iPhone photos. Pick the size you want and send the email message.
