“How can I add a YouTube video to my PowerPoint presentation?”

PowerPoint supports adding videos you recorded yourself, stock videos, and online videos, including YouTube videos. The process of adding a YouTube video has become much easier than it was when I first answered this question back in August 2007.

To add a video, just find Video on the Insert menu bar and choose Online Video.

From there, just copy the YouTube share link and the video will automatically appear in your slide.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you are presenting somewhere with an unreliable Internet connection, you may want to use a video from your laptop instead of choosing one from YouTube. The YouTube video won’t play if the connection drops during your presentation.
