Before Cobra Kai, there was Kwoon, a campy series with the tagline “Bad Acting, Good Kung Fu”. The four episode story arc features a team of martial arts students and their mis(adventures). I originally featured this almost 20 years ago when it was only available in QuickTime format.
The fight scenes are well done, dialog is clear, and picture quality is surprisingly good considering how long ago it was created. A slightly bigger budget could turn this into a Workaholics type series on Comedy Central. Sophomoric humor and campy situations permeate the content, but you’ll find yourself binge watching all the episodes once you start.
